RIDEdwin Bike Breakfast Staff Pick

When: Sat., July 21, 9 a.m. 2012
Price: Free
Family and friends have been celebrating the life of Edwin Gardner, a beloved bicycle advocate who was tragically killed in an accident in 2010, with an annual bike and breakfast for the last two years. But this year, the local cycling community is making a morning of it with food trucks and fruit and beverages donated by Whole Foods. “This is a happy occasion, a time to honor a real leader in the community who was very passionate about the quality of life on the peninsula,” says Stephanie Hunt, one of the event’s organizers, Bikers will meet at 9 a.m. at Cannon Park for a quick two-mile bike ride along the Battery and through Charleston. Bring your wheels, your appetites, and your smiles and rack up some endorphins in honor of a Charleston cyclist and visionary.
