This writer wants me to love and thank and adore the great and powerful god named Federal Government. Here's the argument being presented in the article: "If you make use of federal funding, then it's hypocritical for you to protest anything the federal government does."

However, the federal government has taken over large segments of our economy, and has confiscated the wealth of its citizens in order that it may be seen as the great benefactor. I am thankful when someone gives me a gift. On the other hand, when someone takes wealth by force from my neighbor and then gives me a portion of the amount they stole, with the expectation of great accolades, then count me as less than thankful. I am against theft, even when it's someone else's stuff being stolen. Riley can couch this in language like being "against federal aid," but the truth of the matter is clear.
