Reptar w/ Quiet Hooves, Reckoning

When: Wed., March 28 2012
Price: $10, $8/advance
Athens, Ga.-based indie-pop/rock/electro combo Reptar specialize in a slightly spazzy mix of indie-pop, psychedelic dance-rock, and lo-fi electro. Singer/guitarist Graham Ulicny , bassist Ryan Engelberger, keyboardist William Kennedy, drummer Andrew McFarland, and a rotation of tag-along guests has been on the road all year, hitting clubs and festivals (including the recent SXSW in Texas) behind a forthcoming album titled Body Faucet, due next month via the Vagrant label. Produced by engineer Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley, Washed Out), Body Faucet is the follow-up to the group’s acclaimed debut EP Oblangle Fizz Y’all. “When we were recording the [new] album, we tried to strike a balance between giving each song its own distinct character and identity and still having the album feel like a cohesive statement,” says Ulicny. “It really feels like a journey between a bunch of different parts of the same dream, some of them based in reality, some definitely not based in reality, and some based in space.”
