“After months of research and experimentation, I have found myself drawn to the age-old idea of portraiture, but with a twist,” says Anna Kincaide of her exhibition, Regeneration, with artist Karen Ann Meyers. “I am still intrigued by the idea of omitting the eyes in my paintings, something I started in my early work and have continued to carry with me as I evolve.” For her part, Meyers’ work also focuses on people, women specifically, in all aspects of repose. “I am interested in frustrating my audience,” says Meyers. That means placing visually confusing textiles behind irresistible women. As you can imagine, the images are mesmerizing. Kincaide and Meyers will showcase their work side-by-side. —Kinsey Gidick
