Re: “Not just any old bubbly, grower Champagne is something special

Don't doubt or destroy tradition, quality, and years of perfecting something to persuede the people to buy your product, ANY product not just the topic here of champagne. Shame on you for knocking something down to build your product up.

...is what was said. point being that anyone who has to belittle something to make them look better is wrong. my comment made was based as a reader who watches journalists take their opinions and use the newspaper as their soap box. Or in this case build up a company while bashing another. It's a writer's job to report the truth and not their opinion. If the author of this story can compare Champagne to McDonalds then why is it meritless to compare Champagne to automobiles?

Are you KIDDING me? are you kidding me? You actually wrote this article expecting to be taken seriously? I can't even read this article without laughing, because quite honestly I feel sorry for the author that she actually believes all the hogwash told to her about Champagne houses that have been around for 500 years having no "terroir" or "expression". Where do you think these farmers BUY their grapes from? You sure show a lot of faith in those "farmers" winemakers to turn a Moet Chandon grape into pure heaven better than they can. Give me a break! It shouldn't matter what a price tag is on anything as long as you enjoy what you purchase. Are you going to write your next article about how NOT to buy a Ferrari or an Aston Martin because they are just crap too? Buy a Ford or a Chrysler and support the American worker because they do the work with so much more craftmanship!!!! Don't doubt or destroy tradition, quality, and years of perfecting something to persuede the people to buy your product, ANY product not just the topic here of champagne. Shame on you for knocking something down to build your product up. How much did Clint Sloan's new boss pay and Harry Root pay you to say all these things in the article? Bon Voyage Clint, Charleston won't miss you...take this load of crap to New York and see how far it gets you.
