Re: “DeSano brings authentic Neapolitan pizza to Charleston

You two geniuses ever been to Antico in Atlanta? It's the same thing. Life changing pizza. This will be, by far, the best pizza in Charleston, hands down.

Re: “An Orangeburg family spawns a loosely connected barbecue empire across S.C.

I've been eating Dukes bbq all my life as both of my parents and my grandparents are from o-burg. We never go to Dukes for the pork - I find the pork to be good but unremarkable. It's the hash that's incredible. And the hands-down winner of the best hash is Chestnut St. - there's no contest. (Interestingly enough, my dad got the recipe for their hash, and there was nothing weird in it like everyone thinks.) I've actually eaten at four other Dukes and none of them seem to get the hash right like Chestnut St. In fact, all they've got at Chestnut St. is pork, rice, hash, slaw, white bread, and tea. (They "don't do chicken"). The Folly Rd. Dukes is pretty good with their large selection of sides, but ask me to choose which Dukes is the best, and I'll take Chestnut St. every day of the week.
