Re: “'Keep Folly Folly' Means Nothing Anymore

Great Article! I am a homeowner on West Indian (the house with the Great Dane galloping wildly at the fence) and I do not support the ban. On the 4th, my sister, nephew, girlfriend and mother (a whole family affair) set up camp on West 3rd Street and had a great time. In our area, there appeared to be a ton of very responsible people enjoying beer on the beach during our Independence Day. We stayed out there until about 6 pm. When we left, we left the beach spotless. I hate that I can't go and enjoy a beer on the beach now, or take a nice walk with my girlfriend on the beach while drinking wine. This isn't the Folly Beach that we wanted to be at when we renovated our house 2 years ago. Let's find a remedy other than an absolute ban. I'd be more than happy to purchase a yearly band (thought that was a great idea). Anyways, thanks for shedding an intellectual light on the matter.
