Re: “Nerd Culture is Rape Culture: Elliot Rodger and the misogynistic world of the geek

Hello there, I am a nerdy girl and let me say that you are completely and totally wrong. Having sexual fantasies about women does not make you a rapist. It doesn't even promote rape culture. What it does is induce masturbation. What you fail to understand is that often these men are not merely attracted to the appearance of these female heroines. They are attracted to the full package. A strong intelligent woman that handles herself, is irresistible to them. Fantasies are just that, fantasies. Nerdy men know more than anyone that not only are they not entitled to women's bodies, but the difference between fantasy and reality.

If a man wants to masturbate to japanese porn, that's fine. The women in the porn know what they are doing and exactly what they are selling. They profit from it, so let them. The real problem is that feminists say they want the kind of men that nerds actually are, but they instead choose the hypermasculine asshole types and then complain about how men are such assholes. I haven't had that problem because I date nerdy men. Most of these men are kind individuals that treat women like equals, but feminists want to portray them as losers to suit their agenda. Which raises the question, which kinds of men aren't feminists painting as monsters? Not even male feminists are safe as they get skewered the second they have an opinion. Nerds are not the issue. Feminists spreading the notion that we in the first world live in a rape culture, is.
