HOME TEAM: ON TIME

To avoid any confusion, management at Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ, located at 1205 Ashley River Road, emphasize that the actual start times for most of their live music is just after 10 p.m. Recently, City Paper's Music Board listed shows as starting at 9 p.m., which is when they arrange the room for the performance and start charging a cover (if there is one). The venue hosts several Lowcountry Blues Bash events this week -- including sets from local blues singer/guitarist Davis Coen, harmonica player Juke Joint Johnny & Drew Baldwin (Charleston's only "harp guitar" player), blues-rockers The James Garner Band, and Mississippi blues-joint act Lil' Dave Thompson. GIGS CANCELED/POSTPONED

Bad news for fans: due to a member of the band's illness, the big, funky Galactic show scheduled for Wed. Feb. 14 at the Music Farm has been canceled. Additionally, the big Drivin' N' Cryin' rock gig set for Sat. Feb. 17 at the Windjammer has been postponed to a later date. Check out www.musicfarm.com and www.the-windjammer.com for more.
