Re: “McConnell and Stavrinakis confront immigration policy

It scares me to think how this country will be in 10 years or less, if something is not done soon, to stop illegal immigration. Who the hell cares about baseball players or any sportsmen taking steroids??? If they obtained the drugs illegally or broke the law in some way, then arrest them and move on. Instead it's talked about on the national news for days on end, as well as other crap that apparently seems to be more important, while the hard working citizens of this country are being put on the back burner so the illegals can be pampered with healthcare, jobs and government assistance causing tremendous debt. We currently have states bringing in nurses from other countries and paying them far less than the nurses currently in place. Patients complain that they cannot understand their poor English, making it hard to communicate their needs. It makes more sense to stop illegal immigration which would keep our healthcare facilities from closing due to debt, boost our education in this feild, as well as others to include incentives and tuition assistance. I just don't get it!!!

Re: “The War on Christmas is but a symptom of a much larger fight

I'm with you SA!! It used to bother me when sales people would greet me with a "Season's Greetings" or something other than "Merry Christmas" but then when I started hearing how companies were actually instructing their employees not to say Merry Christmas, really pissed me off. Is that not infringing on one's rights???? When I get a greeting other than Merry Christmas, I will say back to that person loudly, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!"

Re: “Sen. Glenn McConnell calls for national constitutional convention

Kudos to you SA!! This is exactly what needs to happen. I would love to see SC be the first state to go full throttle with this.

Re: “Letters to the Editor

This joke has been out way too long to have it in a letter to the editor now . Try something original. I'm sure there are many streets and bridges with the names of drug dealers, murderers and lord know what else these days. Just too many of these are named after people and not people one would expect to be remembered by someone other than their own family and friends. What happened to street and bridge names such as sunrise ln. or sunset ln.?

Re: “Dorchester County Council rejects health care resolution

I feel that it is "un-American" to institute a system which gives a "free ride" to unemployed individuals. Also, universal healthcare takes power out of the private business realm and places it in the public government realm. Sales and income taxes would be raised to help pay the costs of universal healthcare coverage. Salaries for healthcare workers would most likely decrease. I worked too hard becoming what I am today, to have it taken and given to those that might not give a rip. Waiting times for non-critical medical procedures and appointments would likely increase. As well as cases of a suspected types of cancers that wait for diagnostic testing when time just might be critical. I'm not talking about days, I'm talking about months.
