Catnip is an all-lady improv ensemble based out of Los Angeles. This high-intensity, character-driven long-form improv show can be both clever and ridiculous all at the same time. Part of Piccolo Fringe at Piccolo Spoleto Festival.

Funny people who happen to be chicks
This L.A.-based troupe is made up of seven lovely ladies. "I feel like you can be a schlubby overweight guy and as long as you're funny, you'll work," says troupe founder Rebecca Allen. "But for the females, you have to be just as funny, but also somehow look like a hot woman." Good thing the ladies of Catnip are H-O-T hot

Chicago is so five minutes ago
Six of Catnip's seven members have lived in Chicago in the past, performing in the city's biggest theaters, like iO Theater, The Annoyance Theatre, and Second City. "I think for the majority of us, we had just accomplished everything we wanted to in Chicago and were looking for some new challenges," Allen says. According to her, L.A. is a popular next stop for comedians who've had their fill of the Windy City.

Familiar faces
Group member Molly Erdman plays the funny wife in the popular Sonic fast food commercials. Megan Grano starred in last year's bridezilla hit, Obliged. And Katie Nahnsen was an actor and writer on Sports Action Team, a syndicated semi-improvised comedy that aired on HDNet and NBC affiliates for two seasons.
