Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers hit the road this spring behind Mojo

Veteran rock band Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have announced their 2010 North American tour and the release of a new album titled Mojo. The tour is set to kick off in May in N.C., and tickets will be available this week.

All fans who buy tickets online will also receive a nice little bundle of goodies. The first gift is a free download of the tracks "First Flash Of Freedom" and "Good Enough" from Mojo, and upon the album's release, all those who bought tickets online will receive a free download of the entire album. After the tour is over, they will be mailed a selection of live tracks recorded during the tour. Mojo, the band's first album in eight years, is said to be a "fiery statement from a band that is making some of their most exciting music."

Petty and the band perform with Joe Cocker at the Time Warner Cable Pavilion in Raleigh on Thurs. May 6, and at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Charlotte on Fri. May 7. They'll also headline at the Philips Arena in Atlanta with Crosby, Stills, and Nash on Wed. Aug. 11.
