Pecha Kucha 28

When: Tue., Jan. 9, 7 p.m. 2018
Price: $14/day of, $12/adv.

Last September the Charleston Music Hall announced that it would be taking the reins of Pecha Kucha, a quarterly lecture series, from Charleston Creative Parliament. The Parliament started Charleston’s iteration of the popular speaker series in 2008 and a group of unpaid volunteers produced 26 PK events in less than a decade. Now, with CMH at the helm, the event continues, following a successful CMH/Charleston Arts Festival collaborative Pecha Kucha this past October. January’s PK features an eclectic mix of speakers (we’d expect nothing else). Guests will hear from hip-hop artist Benjamin Starr; Charleston Moves director Katie Zimmerman; DanceFx’s Jenny Broe, Charleston Jazz’s Mary Beth Natajaran; YESAND’s Joel Sadler; soul-funk artist Manny Houston a.k.a. Alan Fame; P&C food editor Hanna Raskin; and graphic designer Connor Lock. Restauranteur Ben Towill emcees the event, and DJ Party Dad provides the tunes.
