Park Circle pops the Cork

New restaurant open for lunch, specializes in local fare

After building up some major anticipation over a year and a half of construction, Cork Neighborhood Bistro in the Olde Village of Park Circle has opened its doors. Owner Tradd Ashley Gibbs and Chef Sean Wren (previously at Park Circle Grill, Yeaman's Hall Country Club) have spent the transition time revamping the building's style and creating a 90 percent reclaimed, recycled, sustainably built restaurant. They also spent time creating a local, fresh menu made up of produce from surrounding farms, made-from-scratch soups, and locally-baked artisan bread.

One of the main selling points of the restaurant is that their menu changes frequently to reflect items that are in season. A few noteworthy items on the current menu are the Tuna Nicoise Salad, and the Croque Monsieur sandwich with smoked ham, Gruyere cheese, and Bechamel sauce on artisan white bread. Gibbs and Wren plan to add a breakfast and dinner menu in the near future so keep your ears open for that announcement soon.

Check out Cork Mon.-Sat. from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 1067 East Montague Ave. Call (843) 225-CORK for more info.
