Pale Young Gentlemen

When: Sat., Oct. 11 2008
Price: $8
Resembling a university book reading taking place simultaneously with a string quartet recital, the orchestrated indie-pop of Madison, Wis.-based band Pale Young Gentlemen is unique. The ensemble began four years ago as a piano trio comprised of brothers Michael and Matt Reisenauer. With the addition of bassist Andrew Brawner, cellist Elizabeth Weamer, and various guest violinists and violists, they developed an airy, lilting, folky pop style. The Gentlemen perform this Saturday in support of new 12-song disc titled Black Forest (tra la la), which was released this month on the Science of Sound label, and recorded at Smart Studios and produced by Beau Sorenson (Death Cab For Cutie, Sparklehorse). —TBL
