Re: “Charleston hardly comes out smelling like a rose after reluctant slavery apology

Apology and action they're not mutually exclusive. I wholeheartedly agree with you, K.J. -- and anyone who doesn't agree (or would like to know more) would be floored by this piece by Stacey Patton (which includes a link to the racial disparities report released by the Avery Research Center) https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/postev…

We're gonna miss you, Will! Thanks for bringing a twist to Upper King and to Charleston.

Re: “Get off your steed and on a bike

More tips n' laws:
** Your bike WILL BE CONFISCATED by the City if you park on anything but a corral on KING STREET between Calhoun and Spring. Don't expect a note -- if your bike is parked illegally and disappears, grab $40 cash and head to the police station on Lockwood. And be ready to buy a new lock.
** DON'T TEXT on your bike -- it's illegal, you can be ticketed.
** Helmets aren't mandatory, just a good idea. Find one you like and give it a try.
** And to reiterate, USE LIGHTS on your bike -- white on the front, red on the back. You can be ticketed and fined if you're seen biking without them at night.

Re: “Local company raising funds to produce iPhone alarm clock

Waking up is your first experience of the day! It should be a pleasant one... and sometimes it's the little things that make a difference. That's our goal anyway at Distil Union - to design seamless solutions for your everyday life.

We're hoping that there are more folks out there with iPhones who appreciate the sleek design and functionality that we've attained with Snooze. If not, everybody loves tshirts – perhaps spring for one of those instead to help support local businesses and creatives! http://kck.st/MNGE73
