A musical revue written and conceived by Robert Ivey, featuring Charleston's best singers and dancers. Part of Piccolo Spoleto Festival.

Gershwin has a history with Charleston
The story of Gershwin hanging out on Folly Beach — where the livin' is easy — while writing the music for Porgy and Bess is well known in the Lowcountry. This is where he learned to love the sound of Sea Island Gullah. That love shines through in many of the songs that will be showcased in this tribute. Expect guys in tuxedos, gals in evening dresses, and opulence aplenty in this musical tour de force dedicated to the greatness of Gershwin.

Charleston has a history with Gershwin
Don't pretend like you've never hummed "Summertime" while strolling through the historic district. Robert Ivey knows just how seamlessly these catchy tunes mesh with living in Charleston. That's what the show is all about.

Ivey has a history of entertaining us with Gershwin
A couple of years back, Ivey even pitched in with a passel of Gershwin tunes at Robert's of Charleston when the famous singing chef was recovering from a knee operation.
