Now serving lunch at 17 North Roadside Kitchen

Burgers, Blue Plates, and Bisque

If you were going to eat lunch at a Roadside Kitchen, what's the main dish you'd expect to find on the menu? Burgers, right?

17 North added lunch to the lineup this week, and they've got the burger covered with nine different variations on the American classic. There's the Philly Cheeseburger with provolone, hot peppers, caramelized onions, and green peppers. Brett's All-American has caramelized onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. The Vegan Burger is a marinated portabella mushroom while the Traditional Eddie's Special has cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and mayo on a soft bun. The burgers come with a pickle spear and your choice of truffled pommes frites, coleslaw, potato salad, or chips for a respectable $9.

The rest of the menu has a little something for everyone, from the professional looking for a light power lunch to the tourist looking to stop off the highway and indulge in a rich and satisfying meal.

Highlights include the house-smoked pork chop served with an apple brandy sauce, the chicken club with avocado, applewood smoked bacon, and an onion herb aioli, Allagash beer-battered fish and chips, and perhaps the ultimate classic: tomato bisque served with a miniature grilled cheese. Lunch is served every weekday at the Roadside Kitchen, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
