The City of North Charleston has maintained a Public Art Collection since 1989. Original pieces are added to the collection through artist assistance grants, donations, commissions, and City Purchase Awards from the annual North Charleston Arts Fest Judged Fine Art Competition and South Carolina Palmetto Hands Juried Fine Craft Competition. Featured works highlight a variety of subjects and themes and include photographs, paintings, drawings, fiber art, mixed media pieces, and fine crafts. Enjoy a taste of the City’s collection curated by Karol Skelly and Cultural Arts intern Olivia Gawler.
