CBT is "Alive & Kicking"

The Charleston Ballet Theatre announces its 2009-2010 season of performances, which it's calling "Alive & Kicking." It includes:

Peanuts Comes Back

The Company Company re-mounts You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown at Boone Hall. Maida Libkin has directed the show for 10 years, and is part of this 90-minute production about the adventures of Charlie Brown and the gang. High Tea and chamber music

For a third season, violinist Lee-Chin Siow, cellist Natalia Khoma, and pianist Volodymyr Vynnytsky come together to create and direct College of Charleston's Music Fest. The trio will show Holy City dwellers a thing or two from the past. To do that, on Sun. March 29 at 4 p.m., a concert and high tea will be held at Ashley Hall to showcase Tchaikovsky's Trio and Paul Schoenfield's Cafe Music. Rounding things out will be a reception with the artists. Admission is $35. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Student tickets are $10 with a valid student ID. Tickets may also be available at the door an hour beforehand. Jane Alexander at 2009 Spoleto

This year Spoleto Festival USA's annual gala will be hosted by Tony Award-winner Jane Alexander, the actress known for stage performances in The Great White Hope, The Sisters Rosensweig, and Find Your Way Home. On May 23, Alexander helps honor the career of Charles Wadsworth, Spoleto's longtime artistic director for chamber music, who is retiring this year.
