Re: “USUAL SUSPECTS ‌ Choosing Ignorance

I love this- thank you for looking at the issue with open eyes! It's something I have almost lost hope for- In a world where, on a college campus (a liberal arts campus, which supposedly fosters open-mindedness and pushes the "knowledge is power" mentality), it is frustrating to feel like expressing an opinion similar to the one in your editorial would make me politicall incorrect. I think that this bill is the best attempt at waking people up about this issue that I have ever seen. I have always thought that the word "choice" was an ironic piece to the "pro-choice" name. It seems that to make a choice, one must actually consider the options from every angle. Asking someone to actually look at the choice they are making is not too much to ask. Why should you flinch, close your eyes? If the ball is coming at you, it's coming at you. If it's in motion, closing your eyes isn't going to do anything to help. Maybe it's not the very best analogy, but as Americans, shouldn't we step up and fight for ownership of our choices, instead of insisting on ignorance, just b/c there are so many more buttons we can push nowadays?
