@CIACulinaryKid

Naah, not 21 years. Legally, viability starts at 18 years.

Re: “The Agenda: Haley signs 19-week abortion ban; Is 'Holy City' a misnomer?; Record travel expected

The nickname "the Holy City" was never a misnomer, exactly; it was (affectionate) snark.

Growing up there ca. 1970, I always knew it was snark. I was irked when the canard that the nickname was about the city's many churches sprung up (I always presumed it was a nicey-nice story made up for tourists who wouldn't appreciate the joke), and I was mystified and mildly appalled over the years as that canard came to be taken as the truth by more and more people.

Thanks to you and the P&C for bringing the truth back to light.

Re: “Little Match Girl: The opera that almost made me stand up and shout

Chris, if you need an antidote to Lachenmann's Little Match Girl, give a listen to David Lang's Little Match Girl Passion. You'll feel much better.

By the way, did you see Heidi Waleson's line in the Wall Street Journal?
"Helmut Lachenmann’s “The Little Match Girl” was the real period piece of the three"
