Re: “The real hatred and vitriol is coming from the Left, not Sarah Palin

What you are referring to is the term: classical liberalism. This was the term used in the 19th century to refer to the belief in limited government, individual liberties, free markets, etc. Later this movement became known as "neo-classical liberalism" and today we know it as libertarianism.

Modern liberalism (the type that Jack refers to) in the US can be defined as social liberalism, or the belief it's government's responsibility to care for the welfare of the people. It's a belief that equality is achieved through equal compensation no matter your stake in life. This is done through taxation and the distribution of wealth and services to those with less personal wealth.

Jack's use of the term "conservative" in today's modern US political forum is aligned with "classical liberalism" or "libertarianism." So yes, Ron Paul is a "classical liberal."

So...who is more likely to react on emotion? That would be a liberal.

My guess would be that Jack didn't do "an internet search" to understand the meanings of the words, and neither should you.
