Re: “Though technically impressive, Bohemian Trio may not be for everyone

lynnar (and celeste) ... perplexed? had no feeling? Let me ask you one question that can be answered based in FACTUAL EVIDENCE -- how is it that both the Sat 7pm and Mon 7pm sets, the crowd ERUPTED in standing ovation and begged for encores? lynnar, you're clearly entitled to not like them but don't try to make it seem like the rest of the audience didn't -- you were one of a few old crabby people that are stuck in the 1930s swing. of course, Duke and Ella are amazing -- but so are these guys and they're giving us something fresh and new. how can you say they had no melody and no rhythm? did you see Yosvanny dancing on stage, grooving along? and what about that cellist? that solo he did? do you know how hard it is to do that on that instrument and he made it seem like nothing? he's seriously the eddie van halen of cellists, the way he rocked that crowd. and the RAVEL piece they did? these guys kept surprising me with every new piece they did. it was hypnotic. as good as the beaux arts trio back in the day. So, lynnar, go crawl back into your time capsule. and celeste ... for the people of CHarleston who deserve to know an ACCURATE account of the concert, please use the power of the pen responsibly. Because at all the other Spoleto events i've been, Bohemian Trio has been by far the talk of the festival and the "can't miss" event. i wish they had stayed another week so i could hear them at least two more times. they never get old.
