Mt. Pleasant Beer Fest

When: Sat., Nov. 6, 12:30 p.m. 2010
Price: $25, $20 (adv.)
Mellow Mushroom originated as a lil’ pizzeria near Georgia Tech. Since then, they have grown to have locally-owned-and-operated locations in 15 states, and at each of their locations there is a strong attachment to the community. Since the restaurants serve as a source of fine craft beers, it is fitting that the Mt. Pleasant location is hosting a beer festival to benefit Windwood Farm. Windwood Farm is celebrating their 25th anniversary as a residential service that provides a safe haven for abused and neglected children. The one-day Beer Fest will offer a variety of fine craft beers from more than 40 craft breweries, including Westbrook Brewing Co., Palmetto, RJ Rockers, SweetWater, Dogfish Head, Rogue, and Brooklyn. It will also have a wine tent for those not too keen on drinking brews. Reggae and dancehall artists Dub Island and the Dubplates will provide steady and rhythmic grooves for the fest. —Dustin J.
