Mother's Day Roundup

Mommy Dearest

We don't know about your mom, but ours are feeders. Always offering food, treats, and snacks at every possible occasion. Turn the table and treat your mom to one of these special menus created just for her.

The Old Village Post House’s two-course, prix fixe menu will run you $23 for an appetizer and entrée, with dessert for an extra $5. The pimento cheese and sausage-filled Village Omelet followed by the restaurant’s chocolate pudding with toasted hazelnut, salted caramel, and chocolate chip cookie crumbles sounds like a winner to us.

High Cotton is also serving up brunch with a two-course, appetizer and entrée meal for $27. You can add dessert to make it $32. Appetizer options include a seafood cocktail that features not only shrimp, but crab too, and entrées range from crab cakes benedict to roasted prime rib.

Slightly North of Broad jumps on the brunch train, offering $9 spring berry sangria and $8 Maverick mimosas made with your choice of juice to accompany their menu.

Southerly Restaurant and Patio will have a special brunch buffet priced at $29 for adults and $10 for kids.

Opal and Langdon's are putting on a very rare brunch for all the moms out there.

If your mealtime requirements include a spectacular water view, head down to the Charleston Harbor Fish House to enjoy the chef’s brunch specialties and some mimosas or Bloody Marys.

Rita’s Seaside Grill's brunch offers a more laid-back beachside destination and will be opening an hour earlier than usual, at 9 a.m., for those early-rising families. Get your fill before hitting the beach or simply cater to mom’s every desire for the rest of the day.

Should you be a family of boaters or just looking for a little oceanic adventure, coast around the Charleston Harbor on the Carolina Queen or with SpiritLine Cruises and enjoy the brunch specials that each ship’s kitchen will be offering from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

For a freebie for mom, Sesame Burgers and Beer in Mt. Pleasant will be giving mothers a free mimosa with brunch. And at dinner, they'll have acoustic musician Matt Mackelcan playing from 6-8 p.m. as well as dinner specials.

If you're a little on the broke-side, you can still "treat" your mom with a free cup of frozen yogurt (and toppings!) at Sweet Cece’s Frozen Yogurt and Juice Bar.

Oak Steakhouse has prepared as special Mother's Day brunch, and they'll still pamper her tastebuds at dinner too.

Caviar & Bananas created two picnic baskets so mom can enjoy the special day wherever she wants.

And if you want to spend some quality time with your madre, head to the South Carolina Aquarium where, courtesy of sponsor Mom’s in the Know, mothers will receive complimentary entry with a paying guest or child. Opa! Moms also get in for free at the Greek Fest.

Or you can party with your mom at Scott’s Grand Banquet Hall in North Charleston, when RL from the 1990s hit trio Next performs. Come walk the red carpet, get your picture taken by a professional photographer, and enjoy complimentary adult beverages and hors d’oeuvres with limited packages.
