Most People Dressed As Where’s Waldo Characters In One Place

When: Sun., Feb. 13, 12 p.m. 2011
Price: $12/advance, $15/day of
I have a shirt in my wardrobe that I refuse to part with. Not because it’s particularly attractive or because it has some sort of sentimental value. Nope. I hold on to it because it’s got red and white stripes, and as long as I have it, I have a perfect Where’s Waldo costume ready at a moment’s notice. As part of Second Sundays on King, organizers are also attempting to break the Guinness world record for the “Most People Dressed As Where’s Waldo Characters in One Place.” Wristbands will be handed out to all the Waldos, Wandas, and Odlaws at Marion Square from 12-12:30 p.m. Once you get one, feel free to wander King Street, where many restaurants (like Kickin’ Chicken, Mellow Mushroom, Tasty Thai, the Upper Deck, and King Street Grille) will have drink or food specials; some may even be giving out complimentary drink and appetizer tickets and souvenir koozies. There will also be costume contests throughout the day. A portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit Charleston’s Ronald McDonald House. If I can’t go, I definitely have a shirt that someone can borrow.
