Morris Island Cleanup

When: Sat., April 18, 12:30-4 p.m. 2015
Price: Free
Charleston’s manufacturing community will be joining Wounded Nature – Working Veterans in a massive cleanup of Morris Island. Boeing, Bosch and Cummins are uniting to clear the island of trash and debris before the sea turtle and bird nesting season begins. The public is invited to join this meaningful effort. The event is free (donations are accepted) and water taxis will be available to take volunteers from Remley Point boat ramp on 5th Street in Mount Pleasant over to Morris Island and back. Parking is limited at the boat ramp and volunteers are encouraged to car pool and then park on the grass up against the tree line. Sign in and safety meeting start at 12:30, shuttle boats begin taking volunteers to Morris Island at 1 p.m. Boats return at 4 p.m. for an after party to award prizes for most unique items found and raffle items for volunteers.
