Re: “Heavy Metal or Hate?

Hunter's attempt at satire was less than effective, it was more along the lines of someone with little to no sense of humor attempting to draw comparison to irresponsible journalism and heavy metal. Where he grossly failed was in the fact that contrary to any of the other drivel that has ever spewed forth from his wit lacking and generally small brain, is that he slandered the bands named, plain and simple. There was no attempt at even thinly veiling his sarcasm because he's never written anything remotely humorous, and most of his rhetoric wouldn't lead the casual reader to believe that this was anything different. While Hunter attempts to make fun of Matthews and MSNBC, he show's the typical "Tea Party" member's real lack of insight or intelligence. It's great that you pulled the piece, but as a member of the journalistic community I can say that you showed an extreme inability in oversight in the fact that you let such a irresponsible piece out, without even the slightest inclination that there would be backlash from the bands he attempted to use as pawns in his piece. You truly are showing that professionalism is backseat to hateful attempts at humor, minus the humor itself. Your paper should be ashamed of yourselves, and you really are not helping any other commonly held notions that the south hasn't evolved in the humor department or intelligence department. I hope that you get sued for slander, your paper truly deserves it for it's complete lack of professionalism, in even the most basic fundamentals of journalism. You're joke to journalism across the country...Congratulations.
