Michael Jackson tributes by way of Who's Bad

The N.C band is nearly the real thing

While rabid Michael Jackson fanatics out West scrambled to get tickets to the gaudy memorial for the late celebrity singer last Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, local fans have a chance to celebrate the so-called King of Pop's music and moves on their own this month. Well, don't stop 'til you get enough: Who's Bad (featuring E'Casanova) performs at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach (4640 Hwy. 17 S.) on Fri. July 17 as well as a two-night stint at the Windjammer on July 24-25.

Based in Chapel Hill, N.C., the super-tight tribute act formed five years ago to "recreate the music, the choreography, and the showmanship of the self-proclaimed King of Pop — from his days in the Jackson 5 on up to the album Invincible."
