Re: “FILM REVIEW ‌ Mo Betta Motown

Just a response to Scot Renshaws review of Dream Girls, well, his comment about Gerard Butler's "finger-nail-on-chalkboard" singing. For someone who had never really sang in his life, Mr. Butler did a phenominal job singing as the Phantom. He hit every note dead on. In fact, I prefer to listen to his renditions of the Phantom's signature songs rather than Michael Crawford's performances. To me and to millions of others, Gerry Butler's performance was wonderful. Just because you do not care for his voice, do you have to be so mean-sprited? Come on, finger-nails-on-chalkboard? Not even near it. Perhaps you should listen to the high-pitched grating sounds that Michael Crawford made!
