Re: “Blondie the horse's accident raises moral questions about the carriage tour industry

just where are all these retirement, natural farms, rescues and sanctuaries that will take drafts or drat crosses? i read nearly everyday that many horse rescues are closing do to lack of funds or not able to take any more because they are full? those of you who feel this si the solution, go volunteer at a rescue or sanctuary and then tell me how easy they are to maintain on little money. culinary kid, your co-worker comment is laughable. you obviously failed biology, health and science in general if you think that a person pulling a carriage would be the same as a horse. incase you didn't notice, different muscle mass, 4 legs as opposed to 2, not to mention if places were able to be traded that would mean that the horse would have to do the work the human does, again, a totally different set of skills, horses don't have thumbs, kinda hard to use a muck fork. and susan, your feature was fiction at best, my opinion.
