Re: “The Agenda: Conroy to be laid to rest; SPA building SC's largest solar project; Tinkler to run for county treasurer

@Pronghorn, David is actually correct. I supported female cadets entering The Citadel. I didn't want it oersonally, but I supported it because it was the right thing to do. As a Black Alumnus of The Citadel, I found the exclusion, and subsequent plight of the female Cadet similar to that of the minority male cadets that came before Shannon. Fact is however, she was a horrible choice to break the barrier. She showed up out of shape, unprepared and then got injured ... probably because she was out of shape and unprepared.

Her failure was indeed a mockery for the moment. However, many young women have gone on to be GREAT Cadets and become well established contributors to society.

As for your opinion about the level of respect WE get versus the VMI guys, you're entitled to your opinion. We DO have our issues ... but the it Adel is a FINE institution ... wearing this ring has opened several doors for me. I wear it proudly and I represent it well in my own right.

Take care of yourself!
