Well I wouldn't say that the horses are happy and enjoy getting exercise. During the summer the horses are towning carriages in extreme heat. Don't get me wrong, I think that any other time of year the horses are fine and taken care of, but improper of care of horses increases during the summer with increasing heat. I remeber a few years ago carriage tours not running during the hottest hours of the day. I have yet to hear that this year and yesterday the temp. was 95 and it felt like 105. And I believe the horse would be much happier on a farm than on the streets of Charleston in the dead heat of summer.
