Harbor jams. While most of Piccolo Spoleto's events occur on dry land across the peninsula, some gigs launch from the dock and take place on the harbor waves. This year's Lowcountry Blues Cruise features four visiting acts who regularly visit town — Savannah blues singer/guitarist Brett "Hitman" Barnard and his band, blues-rock guitar hero Jeff Beasley, swingin' blues/roots combo the King Bees, and Chicago-based boogie twosome the Matt Walsh Blues Duo.

Belle du jour. These shows are set up on the handsome Carolina Belle, a harbor cruise boat stationed at the Charleston Maritime Center. Live music is only part of the fun as they'll have a cash bar, food, and a dance floor as well. The leisurely trip runs along the Cooper River and the scenic south end of the peninsula. Boarding at the Fountain Walk Dock begins at 6:30 p.m.

Change of pace. These gigs are a great opportunity for locals and casual blues fans to cruise the harbor and take in the sights and sounds of the city with a swingin' soundtrack.
