Loggins & Messina w/ Gabe Dixon

When: Tue., Sept. 22 2009
Price: $39
Wanna get loose? Footloose? Tuesday evening might be your best bet as classic rock act Loggins & Messina is set to perform a concert at the Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. Singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins is best known for his snappy pop hits “This is It,” “Footloose,” “I’m Alright,” and “Danger Zone.” Guitarist/producer Jim Messina — a founding member of Poco — helped pen a pile of melodic and groovy songs as well. The duo reunited in 2005 for a new album titled Sittin’ in Again, followed by their first national tour in 30 years. Opening the concert on Tuesday is Nashville-based jazzy pop/rock pianist/songwriter Gabe Dixon, a young talent who recently collaborated with Alison Krauss, O.A.R. and Paul McCartney. He and his trio released their self-titled debut album for Fantasy Records last August. “Find My Way,” the album’s second single, is the main title song to Touchstone Pictures’ summer flick The Proposal. Tickets are available via the box office, Ticketmaster outlets, or by phone at (800) 745-3000. —T. Ballard Lesemann
