Local Music on the Farm event on horizon

Music and Organic grub at Adaptive Gardens, Nov. 8

Farms can rock too. Adaptive Gardens of the Lowcountry provides life skills for special needs high school students from across the Lowcountry. They learn to tend their own gardens and create craft items for sale at McClellanville's Our Local Foods. Five local bands are lined up for a special concert on Sun. Nov. 8, including Holy City Sinners, Skye Paige & The Original Recipe, The Hungry Monks, French Toast, and Toasted Beats.

An ongoing oyster roast and barbecue will keep your stomachs full while the silent auction allows you to put your money where your heart is. Kids will have plenty of entertainment with face-painting, hayrides, and a jump castle. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for kids and are available at adaptivegardens.org. Thornhill Farms in McClellanville (10882 Hwy. 17 N., 843-743-9749) hosts the event from 12-5 p.m.
