Bradley Taylor is the brains behind both LJ Woods Farm, where he raises heritage livestock, and Revival Foods, which distributes Taylor’s meat to consumers and restaurants. Taylor is not only a dedicated farmer and foodie, but a historian too, and he can regale you with tales of the origins of the Pineywoods cattle, Spanish goats, and Ossabaw hogs that roam his 680 wooded acres. All the animals he raises are old, rare breeds that are adapted to the Lowcountry — he’s even got cows whose ancestry can be traced back to the late 1800s. Sustainability is a major goal for LJ Woods Farm, so in addition to carefully selecting his breeds, Taylor manages his land as a sustainable timber farm.
