Little Tybee, Do It to Julia

When: Tue., July 12 2011
Price: Free
Led by vocalist/guitarist/pianist Brock Scott — Atlanta’s Little Tybee hits the Charleston area this week during a lengthy East Cast tour. The five-member band brings their progressive and arty orchestral-pop to town behind their latest album, Humorous to Bees. Over the last year, the group has gained praise from critics and fans (including outspoken members of Local Natives, Of Montreal, and Man Man) for their delicate, playful, atmospheric style. The band name refers to the small coastal island community south of Savannah, which might bring connotations of Southern-style Americana or straightforward blues-rock, but Little Tybee’s dreamy pop songs sway with a different kind of breeziness. Do It to Julia shares the bill at the Village Tavern.
