Re: “Josh Groban wins us over

Wow. Mr Wright. Did you see the same show as the rest of us? Couldn't possibly have. Josh Groban puts on an amazing performance. Having seen him 4 times alone on this tour, and on my way to my 5th, I can't imagine what it is that turned you off so, but suffice it to say, you obviously have no appreciation for a good show. Mr. Groban is not the only performer who thinks of his fans that couldn't afford to pay $300 for a seat by having a "B Stage" that they perform a few songs on. Those of us who paid the premium price still get to enjoy the majority of his performance up close and personal. I have been in both low budget and premium seating and have no complaints about either. He does well whether the venue is 500 people of 5000 people. If people came expecting one thing and got another than they can't possibly be familiar with Josh. He himself has said he enjoys giving the unexpected. If you are familiar with his latest CD Illuminations, it's a mystery to me why anyone would come hoping he was going to sing classical pieces of Bach or Strauss when it is obvious he would be coming to push that CD which I might add has been out for just a bout a year so there was plenty of time to familiarize oneself with what to expect. And though there are a few foreign language pieces on it, Josh wrote 11 of the 13 and readily states the CD was very personal.

While you have every right to be disappointed with Mr. Groban's performance, keep in mind, his shows have been sold out around the world and the reviews have been more than positive. He is very sensitive to his fan base , listens to criticism, and at times has made adjustments accordingly. But in the mean time the show will go on and he will be making deposits we could only dream of in the bank. P.S. In case you couldn't tell, I am proud to be a Grobanite.
