Re: “How Charleston's next mayor can help the city erase its stubborn color line

You can do all the things listed in the article(housing, education, healthcare, rewriting and whitewashing history, etc.) and you will do nothing to erase the color line in Charleston or any other city in the South or America as a whole. The issues above only assuage the guilt of the majority, while not really addressing the issue of racism that is deep in our hearts. Its PERSONAL not professional, yall! If you continue to see black people as less than based on the color of their skin and not the character. If you don't treat each other as equal human beings--training our children and selves that we are all human and that we dont choose our friends, neighbors, lovers or family members by their color or race but rather loving them as equals created in the image of God--then no amount of social welfare programs will make a hill of difference.
I love when people write these articles preach to us about what we should do but you find out that they still live segregated lives themselves.
