Well, written, Thomas. Your article certainly brings up good points.

I would welcome a change to the current drug policies, but I'm not sure legalization is the answer.

Have Canada and Japan legalized drugs? Are there other differences between them and us that would contribute to their being safer? (Stronger gun laws for instance.)

Do you have any concrete ideas on how to deal with drug addicts? Or any evidence that strong monitoring (as espoused by the LEAP official on your Facebook page) would keep our children from experimenting more if drugs were legal?

I can't help but think that drug addiction would increase if drugs were freely available, and I think that those addicts without power or money would be vulnerable to manipulation by criminal interests.

So, I applaud you for bringing up the topic, but I'd like to hear more.
