The Gold standard
Judy Gold, stand-up comedian, heads to The Schoolhouse this Thursday in an event co-sponsored by the Charleston Jewish Community Center Without Walls and We Are Family. A two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner (for her work as a writer and producer on The Rosie O’Donnell Show), Gold is known for her sharp timing and crowd work. Her stand-up specials include Comedy Central Presents: Judy Gold and Comedy Central’s Tough Crowd Stands Up. In addition to her stand-up work, Gold is a commentator for CNN. This past year she spoke in defense of Stephen Colbert, who was lambasted by some for an “off-color” comment about president Trump. Gold wrote, “I find it ironic that these people would start a campaign to fire a public figure for what,in their assessmen, were lewd comments ... and people all over the world, for that matter, just lived through the presidential campaign of one of the lewdest, most misogynistic, insulting, undignified men we’ve ever seen.”
