Re: “Workshop offers an around-the-world array of options

That's a pretty apt description, Ima Oldman. Slice was decent, and that was what we intended to get when me and a work associate went, but we did not find it initially as it sits off next to the coffee shop and had no signage. We ended up at Pink Bellies. I had the pork noodle bowl, which was not bad, but small portion for $11. I was still hungry enough to eat two slices when we finally found them. The location reminded me of a college food court. Not a bad concept, but seating was NOT plentiful when we went, we ended up outside eating on some art cube for a table. A brewery was opening up though and that itself may draw me back to try some of the other kitchens.

Re: “The Agenda: Drone likely dropped wire cutters to aid prison escape; State won't send voter data, but SCGOP will

Isn't anyone worried about how an escaped felon managed to get out of prison, somehow travel to Texas, obtain two firearms and $50,000 in cash along the way IN ONLY THREE FREAKING DAYS???!!!

Re: “S.C. gas still some of the cheapest in the nation after tax increase on July 1

I paid $1.79 per gallon yesterday. Took a trip to Indiana last weekend and South Carolina still had the cheapest gas of all the states we passed thru.

My only complaint with the gas tax hike is that it did nothing to address the issue whereas a good 30% of the tax money is not used for roads. Now that we are increasing our tax income from gas, that means a larger amount of money will be spent on things other than roads and road maintenance.

Re: “Dylann Roof didn't win, but did we?

Hey Tom, thanks for the reply.

You mention that Germany took down the Nazi flag immediately. Well, we gave them no choice. The occupying forces made it law, and that law remains to this day. While we did not go as far as banning it, we can continue to fly the flag for WHATEVER reason they choose to display it. White Supremacy may be one reason some do so. It certainly is not why I do so.

I support the flags removal from over the statehouse. The only flag that should fly there is the state flag and above it, the American flag. Over a monument was an acceptable place to display it, so I did not support its removal from that location. The entire flag issue was a terrible distraction from the AME shooting. Something that I feel could have waited so that the two issues were not connected in the minds of South Carolinians.

I think you conclusion that the FBI failed to order the ATF to confiscate the shooters illegally purchased firearm is a bit of a stretch. More likely, the FBI was lazy and simply did not care enough to pursue it until AFTER it was used in a shooting. Suddenly it mattered a great deal.

"As one of a handful of states where the amount of painkiller prescriptions outnumbers residents"

Whoa, say what? How does that happen legally? We getting out of state patients who come here for pain killer prescriptions? Sure would have liked to hear more on that point in this article, but they make the statement, and just let it hang.
