Chilly weather has us in the holiday spirit and we're absolutely tickled by the idea of visiting the Joseph Manigault House for their annual holiday decoration celebration, which is exactly what it sounds like. The Garden Club of Charleston creates floral arrangements to reflect this year's theme of Bells and Blooms, inspired by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's 1863 poem, "Christmas Bells."

Longfellow's poem was eventually turned into the carol, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," and with that tune ringing in your ears you can visit the Joseph Manigault House starting on Sat. Dec. 2. The first day of the holiday house features hot chocolate and apple cider on the porch as well as Christmas music from the Charleston Caroling Company from 3-5 p.m.

Regular admission prices apply for this special event; adult tickets are $12, kids 13-17 are $10, and kids three-12 are $5.
