Re: “President Obama's order to kill an American citizen represents a new low

Lex....sorry to disagree with you. There is no mention in the U.S. Constitution of a presidential power to order the summary execution of any person. In fact, that power is expressly denied to the government by the Fifth Amendment, which states: “No person shall be … deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” The Constitution was put in place to protect the people from tyrannical government. I reiterate one more time, the Justice Department should release evidence of his involvement if it has a case. I'm afraid you are much more trusting of our Federal Government than I am my friend. Eternal vigilance is the price we must pay in order to keep our Republic.

Re: “President Obama's order to kill an American citizen represents a new low

Lex....if he was a terrorist threat as the US claims, why does the justice department refuse to release evidence of his involvement? If the Wall Street protests in the US escalate into a national movement, could I and people like myself who question authority and defend the Constitution find ourselves on the "kill list" as enemy combatants? Can you not see the danger?

Re: “President Obama's order to kill an American citizen represents a new low

I think you miss the point of the article. It's not the issue of killing Anwar al-Awlaki at stake, it's the precedent it sets. People compiling a "kill list" in secret is the very definition of tyranny. May I remind you that there was not a formal declaration of war as is required by the Constitution. Also having a Super Committee to bypass Congress is unconstitutional. And Habeas Corpus has been circumvented. Also Posse Comitatus. Oh, also illegal wiretapping. And let's not forget The Fed is against the constitution. Oh wait...we also now have fenced in "free speech zones." When are you people going to realize what is happening? The Constitution was put in place to protect the individual rights of the people from anyone that would try a power grab....and that is exactly what is going on.
