"It's something that is the opposite of unifying," Riley says. "I think that's unfortunate." This is what he said about the ball.

"They've been working very hard," Riley says. "They committed to using this time of observance of the beginning of this tragic war as a time for understanding." This what he said about the Fort Sumter/Fort Moultrie Historical Trust. By the way, they are having a candlelight sunrise concert commemorating the attack on Fort Sumter.

Maybe everyone needs to rethink exactly what is being said. The attack on Fort Sumter is no less of major role in the start of the civil war, but the NAACP was involved in this event. It looks like Mayor Riley is playing politics. Wake up and read between the lines folks.
