Re: “Mayor wants cops in North Charleston elementary schools

A reality check, the reasoning behind Summey and council’s action was pure political grandstanding, nothing more, nothing less. If you want to mitigate a Newtown, CT from repeating itself in N. Charleston, which is about as likely as a South Carolinian winning the Powerball jackpot, then you must round up all the mentally ill individuals throughout the country and put them in a gun-free zone... Good luck with that! That Elizabeth Moffly has the intestinal fortitude to question the right and the wrong approach to an issue of significant importance: protecting our children at school is a testament to her political courage, and her understanding that true representation of her constituents starts with open political discourse and not with a knee jerk, and self-serving, multi-million dollar taxpayer funded political stunts.
