Re: “The CSO puts their future in the hands of the community

P&C March 28, 2009: Legasey said he understood and appreciated the 'great sacrifice by all employees.'

'By making this sacrifice, the employees have positioned the orchestra to operate from a much more economical platform, so we can weather this storm and hopefully build strength for the future,' he said.

Well, that lasted just one half of a season. He gets one contract concession, a concession on a contract he signed, and he's back again this year asking to cut salaries and positions again. Then an insulting, live on $3,600 a year.

How many "perfect storms" will we see?

Re: “The CSO puts their future in the hands of the community

From the Post & Courier, Nov. 17, 2007: "This contract is a win-win-win for the musicians, the CSO and the Charleston community as it provides a sound baseline for securing the future of the orchestra," said board member Ted Legasey, vice president of finance.

This in regards to a 5 year contract, signed by Mr. Legasey with the musicians. He then requests a pay cut one year later, and one year after that. What is his word?
