Local jazz musicians perform a benefit show at the scenic Magnolia Gardens to raise funds and awareness for the historic Jenkins Institute for Children. The old Jenkins Orphanage was founded in 1891 on upper Meeting Street and later moved to Franklin Street. With live music from drummer Quentin Baxter’s combo and vocalist Ann Caldwell’s band. (see story) 6-10 p.m.
